What color should I paint my room?

Four taps. Three wall colors that suit your light, floor and furniture.

Screen colors are approximate. Paint a sample patch and look at it morning and evening.

How it decides

Four things change how a wall color looks

  • Window direction. North light is cool, south light is warm, west light turns orange in the evening.
  • Daylight. Dim rooms need paler shades; bright rooms can carry deep ones.
  • Floor. Orange-toned wood calms down next to green or blue; dark floors want lighter walls.
  • Furniture. Bold pieces want a calm wall; dark pieces need contrast.

Rules assume the Northern Hemisphere. Shade names are general color families, not paint-brand colors.
